So, what does a typical day in the life of a stylist look like...
Well, most days start with a coffee whilst scrolling through our Tradify schedule to see what jobs we have on for the day before all coming together for our morning team huddle. Communication is key to a well-oiled machine.
Before heading out of the warehouse for the day our Vehicles who have fun names, Wally, Princess, Truck and the newest member of the fleet Frodo are checked they have been packed according to the install or destage for each job. The packing list for each job is checked off ensuring everything has been loaded and ticked off.
Whether we are scheduled in for a full or partial property install or destaging of a property, no two days are ever the same! Depending on how busy the day is, lunch may be at midday or at 3 pm! When we start an install, we won’t stop until it’s complete! Other days, we will be working around the warehouse loading vehicles for the next days installations or building furniture or even stocktaking.
From the outside; styling homes for a living looks like an incredibly glamorous career. But it’s not all scatter cushions and floral arrangements…We ask Emma, one of Lead Stylists a few questions...
What’s the best part of working for Simple Styling Solutions?
Emma: “The amazing team dynamic. Everyone has each other’s back and works hard to get the job done. I love the social aspect that comes with our team bonding days when we do team bonding challenges, whether it be MasterChef classes or challenge rooms at the Hijinx hotel, it helps bring everyone closer together.

Not so fun part of the job?
Emma: “The grunt work at the install! A lot of people have a misconception of what a property stylist does. Yes, we have driver team to do the heavy lifting, but installations are very labour intensive! We are on our feet all day long. Steaming bed linen, carting furniture, and décor around to every room in the property- goodness only knows how many stairs have been climbed by now!
